In Voir Dire, Be Uncomfortable
Voir dire can be very difficult. You essentially have to give up complete control in voir dire. There are so many other things to prepare for, but voir dire is one the most crucial, if not, game-changing components of your case.
Voir dire is really a very strange, uneasy conversation to have. I always say, it’s like going to a party where you don’t know anyone. Walking into the room and saying, "hi my name is Adrienne. I stand for capitalism, small government, and tax breaks for large corporations. Who here already hates me?" And then saying, “Great. Please tell me why.” If that wasn't uncomfortable enough, you must go a step further and say “thank you so much for telling me. Now, who here agrees?"
